The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has estimated the cost of "prosecuting" a war against Iraq at up to $9 billion per month, on top of an initial outlay of up to $13 billion for the deployment of troops to the Persian Gulf region.
In a letter to the House and Senate budget committees, CBO provided Congress with cost estimates for an armed conflict with Iraq, based on recent similar U.S. military operations including those in the Balkans, Afghanistan, and the 1990 Gulf War.

I dont understand why we are still in iraq. anyway it is terrible our economy is crashing and we are spending so much money on worthless things. anyway, people are dying over there are we are paying to have them killed. it is ridiculous. hopefully whoever wins presidency will change this.
I believe the war in iraq is a good thing. Dont take me wrong I think its awful that men and women are dying there but they enrolled in the army to protect this country and if we dont fight them there they will bring the fight to us in our homeland.
I am totally against the war in iraq. The money we are spending is was to much and is hurting us as a country.
$9 billion per month? That is a lot of money that we could be using to better our country from inside our own territories.
In my opinion, I think fighting is pointless. Things get out of hand and turn into larger matters causing the citizens of America to pay more fees. Yes, men and women are risking their lives to save us, but I feel fighting and killing does not solve anything.
I support the humanitarian efforts that are taking place in Iraq. I would hate to be an armed solider and know that the people i am fighting for are not supporting me. However i think if it were possible for us to be pulled out then that would be the best action.
i think thats really expensive, but i also think its necessary to be in this war. cuz i really dont want iraqis on my lawn shooting at me
I think it is a good reason we are still in Iraq. If you ask any soldier who went to war, they would say that we are their for a good reason. First of all we are America we don't take crap from any one. and if we back out now, other countries will see our weakness of our country and think the can get away with anything because we back out from this war.
i think that there are upsides and downsides to the war... but the amount of money they are using for this war is just ridiculous...
I understand how spending all of this money is hurting our economy, and it really is terrible how all these people are dying. But keeping our troops in Iraq is the best thing we can do right now. We are protected here. If we leave, who knows what will happen?

Honestly, I don't care much for the war. I hate that people are dying so much, but also, I don't think we should just stop the war. So many soldiers have died in the war, it'd be dumb to end the war and have their deaths all be for nothing. Of course, either way, things are going to be bad. If we stay in the war, people die, but if the we leave Iraq, we're threatened by terrorists and whatnot.

for goodness sakes! our econmy is in the toilet and we're blowing billions of taxpayer dollars on iraq, when nothings even happening! They're still humans, they can fix them selves we need to pull out and put that extra money to real use.
